Avoiding the Waves

Avoiding the Waves

This dog went into the water, but on the way out of the water, he would jump over every wave.

I don’t know if he was avoiding the waves or if he was playing with the waves.

Dog Encounters

Dog Encounters

It’s quite unusual for dogs to meet and immediately go nose to nose. They will usually go around each other, which is the non-threatening way of meeting each other. Then they sniff each other’s butt, just like the white dog is doing.

What The Hell Am I doing?

What The Hell Am I doing?

This young Chow Chow is wondering what the hell am I doing with my camera almost on the ground.

I’m bent in two with my camera almost on the ground taking his photo.

Who's Running With Who?

Who's Running With Who?

Some people run with their dog and some dogs run with their owner. In this case, it’s clearly the dog that is running and the guy is trying to keep up on his roller blades. They were both going quite fast and it looked like the dog was pulling him as he was trying to keep up with his dog.

Dog Catching the Ball

Dog Catching the Ball

This dog was running after the ball at Hadden Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. Not only he had to catch the ball, he also had to brake to be able to turn around before the pit and to get back his owner that threw the ball.

Always Herself

Always Herself

Whenever I point my camera “into somebody’s face” people become afraid. It’s almost like pointing a weapon at them. They always ask themselves:

  • How do I look?
  • How’s my clothes?
  • I never look good in photos…
  • Why is he taking a photo of me?
  • Is this legal?
  • What he is going to do with these photos?
River: Vancouver, BC

River: Vancouver, BC

My usual way of working is:

  • I usually spot the people with dogs about 50 meters to 100 meters away. That’s around 50 to 100 yards away.
  • I make sure that my dog is on my left and the leash is around my wrist. I make the photos while walking with my own dog. I get my position, which background I want to use…
  • I kneel on the ground with my right knee when the dog is about between 5 to 10 meters away or around 15 to 30 feet away.

Dodoïte: The Happy Dumb Corgi Look

This is what I call Dodoïte’s ‘Dumb Corgi’ look. That’s when he’s happy. It’s just like a Corgi, except for his ears that are not straight up. Many people think that he’s an Australian Sheppard because of his ears.
