Canon can’t do anything right, their latest, the 70D is made of plastic and it should have included the 7D autofocus system and it also needs the lens micro-adjustment… Nikon can’t do anything right either. Their latest, the D7100, which doesn’t ship yet, should have at least 32 megapixels, at least run at 8 frames per second, at least have a fully articulated LCD and finally it should have 2 CPUs to run at full speed…

The only error codes that we, Canon users, can deal with are:

There are 2 uses for the Auto-Exposure AE lock:

1. When you want to have the area of focus to be different from the area metered for the exposure.
2. When you want to take multiple photos with the same exposure setting irrespective of the change in framing or light.

Press the <*> button to lock the exposure, then you can recompose and take the photo. The AE Lock locks the exposure for 4 seconds.

This reporter was recording a small segment for what would be later a ‘small filler’. His talking time was around a minute.

I was “playing” around, and decided to try the Auto Lighting Optimizer on my Canon 7D. Guess what? Nothing!

Was it a problem with the camera or a problem with the operator? It turned out that the problem was that I didn’t RTFM (Read The “Fucking” Manual or in a more polite way: Read The Fine Manual), meaning that the the problem was with the operator.

A dozen people are trying to taking photos of 3 sleepy Snowy Owls. Their cameras range from nothing to $$$.

• 1 guy calling his wife or girl friend and describes what he sees
• A kid watching with binoculars
• A lady using her iPhone
• A lady using a small Sony point and shoot

If you look closely, you will notice that the $149 wedding photo is a singular. Yes, the $149 is for a single wedding photo. The photographer will come to the wedding and each photo chosen by the family will be $149. It does add up very quickly. This $149 photo is an 8x10 inch print plus the digital image.

It doesn’t include any album or any other print sizes.

1. Joby: UltraFit Sling Camera Strap: I paid over $90 for mine! Ouch! But this is always tight on the tripod mount of the camera. It never slips and there is a small roller bearing that makes it smooth, unlike the BlackRapid that I had before that. Having the strap is also great for street photography, most people do not see the camera until I raise it to my eyes.

The other day, somebody asked for my help. She wanted me to tell her what’s the best settings for her Canon for…

I regularly get the same question but in a different form:

• What’s the best camera…
• What’s the best lens…
• What’s the best camera bag…
• What’s the best way of using the flash remotely…

There’s no best setting for your camera, there’s no best lens, there’s no best camera bag…

Canon rates their LP-E6 battery in the Canon 7D as 1,000 photos on average. The average depends on the temperature, too hot - too cold will diminish that. Flash also influences the number of exposures. Something has to feed the blaze that comes out from the pop-up flash.
