Tu Quoque, Mi Fili

Tu Quoque, Mi Fili

Brutus is a Dogue de Bordeaux. He’s huge, he’s around 140lbs. Nothing really scares him. I saw him stare at people and people move away, except me but still, I didn’t go and pet him. Right now, he’s staring at me kneeling on the ground while I take his photo. My dog is with me standing at my side but slightly behind me. Brutus is ignoring my dog and concentrating on my taking his photo.

Turning on a Dime: Vancouver, BC

Turning on a Dime: Vancouver, BC

Artie, this chocolate Labrador had a great time running and catching his Hol-ee Ball. When Artie walks, he looks slow. Artie waddle more than he walks. Normally, Labradors walk like big dogs and take the space but Artie walks almost like a bulldog.

The Hol-ee Ball appears and it’s the park, something amazing happens. From a clumsy dog, we now have an extremely agile dog. He can turn on a dime.

B, yes the letter B, was waiting to go for her ride. The photos were supposed to be at the grandmother place. Instead, they decided to go on the Vancouver seawall. I was supposed to take photos of the Harry, the terrier with the grandmother but thing changed. When I arrived her grand daughter, B, came so we went to the Vancouver seawall along False Creek which is directly behind their apartment.

Dog Working for a Living

Dog Working for a Living

Some dogs are pampered and do nothing. Some dogs have to work for a living.

This dog is working, he’s running and he’s on the hunt. He’d rather sniff around but he has to work. He’s working very hard to keep pace with his owner. Look at the leash and how relaxed it it.

Before Noticing The Camera

Before Noticing The Camera

Steff is an old dog, she’s almost 14 years old. She’s a very nice and pleasant dog, but that’s only if there is no camera.

All of her life, Steff has been terrified of cameras. As soon as she notices a camera, she starts shaking and tries to hide under something or behind somebody. Her owner had tried to take some photos with either her point and shoot camera or her iPhone, but to no avail…

Another Happy Dog

Another Happy Dog

Just another happy dog on a walk on the Stanley Park’s seawall.

Photographing black dogs is always difficult. Cameras don’t like black. The photo of a black dog has to show black. But if it’s too black, there’s nothing. It’s just a “big black blob”.

This Golden Retriever was waiting in the grass. She was waiting and waiting. She was waiting a good a 10 minutes.

Eventually the owner signaled and she started to chase/hunt something. I don’t know what she was chasing, I couldn’t see. But she was definitely running after/chasing something and it was small.

Bench Press v. Chihuahua

Bench Press v. Chihuahua

This lady was doing bench presses. These are real bench presses on a park bench, and some dog was barking. What a racket! Where did it all that barking come from? It didn’t sound like a big dog, but I couldn’t see it.

Then as I got closer and closer with my own dog, I saw this tiny Chihuahua barking like the world was coming to an end… Often Chihuahua will bark because they are afraid, so why did she bark so much? Could be she was afraid of my dog.
