Cesar: A Life of Doggy Disappointments

Imagine you’re at the park when this German Shepherd with a Frisbee in his mouth comes right up to you. He isn’t aggressive, but he really comes right up to you, almost touching you. It’s a dog park but you don’t know him.

You’re left wondering what’s going on. Cesar is big and impressive for a German Shepherd, but not mean-spirited. Would you want to play with this dog? Nobody does! Everybody just turns around and leave.

Actually, all Cesar wants is for someone to take the Frisbee from his mouth so he can run after it.

The tricky part is that he won’t let go until he knows that you have the Frisbee. It’s not about pulling; once he realizes you’re in control of the toy, he lets go and waits for your throw. How often do you think strangers play along? Not even once! Life is a series of disappointments.

Jack, his owner, does toss the Frisbee around, but obviously not enough for Cesar, so he starts looking to strangers…

Jack has tried teaching Cesar to drop the Frisbee at his paws, but Cesar refuses. So, he gave up on that idea.

Now only people that know Jack and Cesar throw Cesar’s Frisbee!
