Basenji Watching the Dragon Boat Races

I did this photo at the Vancouver Dragon Boat Races.

Cookie, the Basenji, is not too interested in watching the Dragon Boat races. As long as she is on the shoulders of her owner, she’s happy. It all started when they went for hiking and there a very rocky portion of the hike. Cookie, the Basenji, could not climb some of the rocks, so he put her on his shoulders for that rocky section. Not only Cookie loves it, but it also calm her down, she doesn’t become fidgety, she relaxes and stops moving.

Cookie needs a lot of exercises. She’s lucky, by living on the Islands, Cookie can run most of the day in the yard. BTW, it’s a great place and I was amazed when I saw it. We took many other photos but this one was my favorite by far.

BTW, the Basenji dogs came from the Congo in Africa.
