Fujifilm X-PRO2: Variable Zoom

At the beginning of the X serie, Fuji started with zoom lenses, the XF-18-55mm f/2.8-f/4 and the XF-55-200mm f/3.5-f/4.8. Now Fuji is mostly known for their fixed lenses.

The nice thing, about these variable zooms, is that they were great bargains. Small, cheap and have pretty good optical quality.

Fujifilm X-PRO2: Display Shutter Speed & ISO

Normally, the Fujifilm cameras do not display the shutter speed and the actual ISO if the camera is set to:

  • DR-Auto
  • Auto-ISO

On the other hand, if the Auto-ISO is enabled but the DR-Auto is disabled and the camera is in the P mode (Auto: for the shutter dial and A for the lens), then both the shutter speed and aperture will be displayed correctly so …

Fujifilm X-PRO2: Sensor Cleaning

Fuji, like most of the other cameras has a sensor self-cleaning mechanism. Since the only Fuji camera with IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) is the X-H1, the self-cleaning for the other cameras is done by creating static electricity on the sensor and stopping the static electricity and hoping that the dirt will get off the sensor.

Fujifilm X-PRO2: Firmware Updates

One of main reason, I bought into the Fujifilm system is that the “Kaizen”, the continuous quality improvements through the numerous firmware updates. Fujifilm does regular updates not only for for the cameras but also for the lenses, although less frequent for the lenses.

Make sure that the camera’s battery is fully charged before updating your camera’s firmware.
