Normally, the Fujifilm cameras do not display the shutter speed and the actual ISO if the camera is set to:

  • DR-Auto
  • Auto-ISO

On the other hand, if the Auto-ISO is enabled but the DR-Auto is disabled and the camera is in the P mode (Auto: for the shutter dial and A for the lens), then both the shutter speed and aperture will be displayed correctly so …

Fuji, like most of the other cameras has a sensor self-cleaning mechanism. Since the only Fuji camera with IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) is the X-H1, the self-cleaning for the other cameras is done by creating static electricity on the sensor and stopping the static electricity and hoping that the dirt will get off the sensor.

With IBIS, the sensor self-cleaning is a two-step process. First the camera creates static …

One of main reason, I bought into the Fujifilm system is that the “Kaizen”, the continuous quality improvements through the numerous firmware updates. Fujifilm does regular updates not only for for the cameras but also for the lenses, although less frequent for the lenses.

Make sure that the camera’s battery is fully charged before updating your camera’s firmware.

If the battery dies in the middle of the firmware …

  • The blinkies are not on any of the menus.
  • The blinkies are (kind of) shown on the info display of the playback mode.
  • Press the DISP/BACK button until you cycle through the various display modes. With the thumbnail and the info the screen will show:
    • blinkies
    • a green cross indicating the focus point used

The problem is that the blinkies are displayed on the thumbnail and that’s extremely …

Fuji is not known for its flash system. The only reason I can use the Fujis for work is the Godox flash system that works very well with Fuji. I need wireless remote.

My main setup is the Fuji X-PRO2, the Godox X1T-F as the master on the camera and a combination of Godox flashes with TT385 and TT685.

People who want to impress other photographers will say …

Single Point AF

  2. Use the rear dial to select the size of the focusing area/frame.
  3. Press MENU/OK to enable the new setting.

Most Lithium ion batteries for cameras are made of 2 cells (the round stuff that looks like a AA battery)

As far as I know, there are only 5 manufacturers of these Lithium Ion cells: 4 in China and 1 in Japan. Even Tesla doesn’t manufacture the Lithium Ion cells for its own car batteries, they use cylindrical Panasonic 18650 Lithium Ion cells.

The camera manufacturers like Canon, Nikon …
