Jogger and Dog Taking a Breather

The guy was taking a breather during his jog, so his dog was look around…

Most dogs love running, except for mine but that’s because my dog is almost a Basset Hound. Some dogs, like pugs or the bulldogs, can only run for a few minutes before they start to overheat.

BTW, don’t expect to be running with a Chihuahua but a …

dogs in not allowed area

Dogs not allowed in this area

Just at the end of the park, there is a very small fenced “dog park” that is extremely narrow and divided in two by a fence in the middle to separate large and small dogs. It’s so small that people can’t throw the ball and stay within the fenced area. The dogs can barely run around.

Dogs are not allowed in 95 …

Dogs sniffing each other, nose to nose

Dogs sniffing each other, nose to nose

It’s quite unusual for dogs to meet and immediately go nose to nose. They will usually go around each other, which is the non-threatening way of meeting each other. Then they sniff each other’s butt, just like the white dog is doing.

Going nose to nose is quite usual for cats, but for dogs it’s not as frequent. Adult dogs …

old female rhodesian ridgeback

Old Rhodesian Ridgeback Still Running Around and Enjoying it

Bee, is mostly a Rhodesian Ridgeback, but she doesn’t have the ridge. I’m not sure if B. is for a short for something or actually Bee for the colours of bees. Her owners think that she’s not a pure Rhodesian Ridgeback.

She already 11 years old (which is quite old for Rhodesian Ridgebacks) and she still loves to …

Very Smart Guard Dog

A Very Smart Guard Dog: Vancouver, BC

His/her job is to protect the car from the intruders (including me). S/he’s trying to decide if s/he will have to bark or not.

At first I was intrigued by what s/he would do. I know that s/he’s a wimp, s/he knows that s/he’s a wimp. So what’s his/her strategy? Maybe …

fearless dog

Fearless Dog

This dog is fearless. She stares straight in my eyes and into my camera. It wasn’t just turning the head and me good lucky. Not once did she flinch.

I was kneeling on the ground with my camera and the ‘serious’ lens. It’s a big piece of glass. I was only 4.5 meters/14 feet away. Most dogs go to the side, turn their head …

the great chicken conspiracy

The Great Chicken Conspiracy

Conspiracies are everywhere. There is the 9/11 conspiracy where people claim that it was George Bush that bombed the Twin Towers in New York. There is the Area 51 conspiracy in Nevada. The area is supposed to be closed because of aliens and UFOs.

At considerable personal risk, I have uncovered the ‘Great Chicken Conspiracy’.

There are chickens that have escaped the crutches of Tyson …

lady and dog on a large tricycle

From this closeup, you’d think that this is some kind of scooter or motorcycle. But, no it’s not. It’s pedal tricycle. Is there electric assist? I don’t think so, but I’m not sure. The front crank-set, where the pedals are connected to the chain, is a regular foot powered crank-set. When I saw her pedalling, she was straining …
