Catching the Frisbee: Vancouver, BC

Rhodesian Ridge Back catching her Frisbee

Rhodesian Ridge Back catching her Frisbee

This female Rhodesian Ridge Back just caught her Frisbee. Look at the grace, the perfect posture. The head held high, the tail held high, and the legs are stretched and in opposite position of each other.

Her name is either Wendy or Willie and she’s two years old. Her owner was busy talking to some friends when I interrupted. She would bring the Frisbee to her owner, drop …

Some Cats Own the Place

White cat sitting on counter

Cat Sitting on Counter

Some cats live in a place. They are just residents, they go through a place. They have a bed, a bow to drink and to eat but these cats are just residents.

Some cats own the place where they live. This happens more often with indoor cats, but not with all indoor cats.

The desk becomes their place and the humans have to work around them.

This cat is Sandie, I …

Hipster Dog, Vancouver, BC

Hipster Dog

This dog and his owner are regulars on the Vancouver Seawall, I’ve seen them on a regular basis. The funny part is that his owner is a “younger” girl in her 20s. She dresses her dog like hipster with the bandanna and the sun glasses while she dresses herself with what I would call regular clothes.

Since people wear sunglasses, shouldn’t dogs also wear sunglasses in the sun?

BTW, the lenses …

Intrigued French Bulldog

Intrigued French Bulldog

She’s trying to figure out what’s happening.

  1. I’m kneeling on the floor
  2. In my left hand, I’m holding the camera and my dog with his leash
  3. In my right hand, I’m operating the camera. The camera makes clicketty noises from the mirror slapping up & down and from the shutter when taking the photos.
  4. I’m making some weird noises. Not that weird, it’s my impression of …

The Last Few Sunny Days

Cat in Window

Cat in Window

It’s fall, it’s sunny and the days are getting shorter. It’s getting colder and the cats know it. There are a lot less cats roaming the streets. Even indoor cats know that it’s the fall and they take advantage of the last few rays of the sun by basking on the window ledge.

I walk by this apartment complex almost everyday, and this cat is in the window …

Tied to the Bike: Vancouver, BC

Yorkie Tied to the Handlebars of a Bike

This Yorkie was patiently waiting in the carrier basket and her leash is tied to the handle bar so she can’t jump out.

I didn’t see the owner, she (it was a bicycle for women) must have been in one of the stores along the street. The bike was against a bicycle rack but the bike wasn’t tied to the bike rack so anybody …

Starring Intensely: Vancouver, BC

Cat starring at my dog

Cat starring at my dog

This window is at street level and occasionally this cat is in the window in front of the curtain. My guess is that the curtain is there for privacy.

This cat is not looking at me, nor looking at my camera. This cat is starring at my dog which is waiting very patiently at my side until I’m done with the photo so we can resume the walk.

Technical …

Watching the World Go By

Tabby Cat Watching the World Go By

This cat is a “cool cat”. He’s sitting on top of the fence and he’s watching the world go by, actually me and my dog walking by him.

This image is a wide angle. We, my dog and I, were about 1½ meters away or about 5 feet. This cat is not afraid. He’s at full attention. You can see it in the eyes and …

Smart Cat v. Dumb Cat

2 cats: brother & sister

Smart Cat versus Dumb Cat

These two cats couldn’t be any more different from each other but they are brother and sister.

Collie or Kolly, the male at the front, is a very dumb cat. The female, Molly, at the back, is a lot smarter. If there’s any danger, Molly goes back into the yard, near the cat door where she can go back in for protection.

Collie/Kolly is not that smart …

Siamese Cat Walking on Fence

This Siamese cat was laying on the fence. He saw me coming and walking with my dog.

He was at the back on the fence and when we walked by, he came closer to inspect the situation, most likely my dog.

BTW, he doesn’t have a collar and we, my dog and I, encounter coyotes regularly and it’s not just at night. I have seen coyotes in Vancouver …
