Lightroom: Correcting the Wrong Time on a Photo

category: Lightroom • 1 min read

As many of you know, I’m a stickler for time. I have written about it many other times. So I should always have the correct time and all of my computers and photos. Nooo! Oops. Not true, first not all the photos are mine. I have a whole bunch of photos from “The Boss”. She has an old Canon G5 camera. She hasn’t set the date and time properly…

The simplest way of fixing the wrong clock setting is for me to fix it in Lightroom:

Lightroom: Change/Edit the Time of Capture of a Photo

Lightroom: Change/Edit the Time of Capture of a Photo

Lightroom: Modify the Time of Capture of a Photo

Lightroom: Modify the Time of Capture of a Photo

The capture time of a photo is different from the file creation date:

  • Capture time is stored as part of the EXIF data.
  • File creation date is set by the operating system.
