PREVIEW EXP./WB IN MANUAL MODE

  • Do you want to preview the exposure and the white balance when in manual exposure mode?
  • PREVIEW WB previews only the white balance.

It should be set to OFF when you are using flash or whenever the exposure changes when the picture is taken.

This works only in EVF and the LCD at the back of the camera.

PREVIEW PIC. EFFECT

Do you want to preview what the effect of the picture effect will be? The film simulation, the white balance, the exposure?

  • ON will make your camera WYSIWYG: “What You See Is What You Get”. This is the “purpose of mirrorless cameras” Just like when using a graphical computer.
  • OFF. Often used when shooting RAW + JPEG. The display screen behaves like a a regular DSLR.

This works only in EVF and the LCD at the back of the camera.

FRAMING GUIDELINE

This is to choose the type of grid while in shooting mode. This works in either EVF and the OVF.

  • GRID 9: The standard rule of the thirds.
  • GRID 24: A six-by-four grid.
  • HD FRAMING: Shows the HD format by cropping the top and bottom of the display.

AUTOROTATE PB

This is for the playback only. I always set it to OFF in the camera so I can review with the whole LCD on the back of the camera.

FOCUS SCALE UNITS

Units displayed at the bottom of the screen showing the distance indicator and the depth of field: Metric or Imperial, meters vs feet.

DISP. CUSTOM SETTING

That where you can choose what you want to show on the standard display.
