Fujifilm X-PRO2 & the ERF
category: Cameras • 1 min read
The ERF, aka the Electronic Range Finder, is the mini-screen at the bottom right of the OVF, the Optical View Finder for the focus preview.
The ERF only works in the Optical View Finder mode, it doesn’t work in the Electronic Viewfinder mode. You select it by turning the Viewfinder selector, located on the upper front of the Fujifilm X-PRO2.
When you are in the single AF focus point, it will show the ERF in the bottom right corner.
The ERF enlarges the single AF focus point. It cannot enlarge multiple focus pointS for the other modes.
The ERF is disabled by:
- AF-C
- Zone AF
- Tracking AF modes
- EVF
May be with the new firmware of version 4 which is due in … will fix this. I have no idea when the new firmware v4 is coming, but it’s coming (which is why I bought a Fujifilm X-PRO2).
Zooming in and out in the Electronic Range Finder
- Push the rear command wheel at the back of the camera.
- It cycles through three levels of magnification as you push the rear command wheel.
