Doing The Submission Seat: Vancouver, BC

This French Bulldog was playing in the sand at Hadden Park in Vancouver, BC, and she saw me taking her picture. She immediately sat and posed in the ‘submission seat’ which is seating and showing submission at the same time.

The submission seat is when the dog seats and spread one of her back leg to show her belly and her genitals. Dogs do this as a sign of submission. This is not as flagrant than doing the ‘belly flop’ which is on their back, all the paws up and showing the full belly and genitals.
