Dog Sniffing Around

I was kneeling in the middle of the pathway, with my camera up, ready to take my photos of this older Boston Terrier mix. He was making sure that he would avoid looking at me but I wasn’t moving. I was still in the middle of the pathway and in the middle of his way. I wasn’t blocking him or taking the whole space and my dog was patiently waiting behind me. Other dogs, before him, just passed by me looking at me and sometimes looking at my own dog.

What can a dog do?

That would depend on how confident the dog is. This dog was not confident. So he went on sniffing, checking me, my camera and my dog out of the corner of his eyes, then sniffing again, then checking me, my camera and my dog out of the corner of his eyes again… My camera was making some noise from the shutter and the mirror flapping but that was it. Eventually, he decided that I wasn’t dangerous, he walked by and went on his way to ‘I don’t know where’
