Fleece or Freeze? How Whippets Battle Winter

Mid December in Vancouver BC and it’s only 5 °C. For the rest of Canada it’s balmy, almost warm. Calgary is -17 °C! and Toronto is -5 °C. For us in Vancouver, it’s cold. It’s just the same for Mr. B, a 4 years old Whippet. It’s cold and he feels it.

Claire was telling me that even with his fleece jacket was almost shivering, so she started looking for a heated jacket. Some kind of jacket with a small battery and some heating elements inside the jacket to keep Mr. B warm.

Whippets are always cold, they don’t have enough fat to keep them warm.

Mr. B has character! He’s not afraid of me and my camera nor of my dog that is just beside me. He’s not even looking at my dog but at me. I’m kneeling on the ground taking his photo.
