Pomeranian walking (kind of)
Almost all small dogs ‘walk funny’. They have the same set of bones as the other mammals but that doesn’t mean they use them. Take the knees for example.
This Pomeranian has regular knees, but Pomeranians and Chihuahuas and … don’t use them, so their walk looks more like the ‘goose steps’ than regular walking. Bending their knees to walk is too inefficient, their steps would be even smaller.
A friend of mine calls this type of walk: ‘knitting’.
These small dogs can’t really run either, their legs are not long enough to stretch, so for them to go faster, they need to ‘knit’ faster…
