Photographing Black Dogs: Vancouver, BC

category: Dogs • 1 min read

Black dogs. The color black absorbs almost all light and doesn’t reflect any (almost) light. Photographing black dogs is difficult. There’s a very fine balance between showing the black dog as black and the need to still show enough details in the black.

The color black is also the color that relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown. That’s why many people are afraid of black dogs and of black cats. Black dogs and black cats have more problems being adopted than light colored animals.
