This is My Ball
He wants to chase the ball, so he carries his ball everywhere. If he carries his ball with him, he could drop it at the people’s feet and they would throw it.
The only problem with this thinking is that once he has the ball, it’s HIS ball. Since it’s HIS ball, he won’t drop it to people’s feet. Nobody’s brave enough to take it away from him, just to throw it. Only Jerry, his owner, will do it, but only for so long.
It’s a conundrum, because for him to get what he wants, chase the ball, he has to give it away, but he can’t give it away, it’s HIS ball!
