Originally they were used to hunt rabbits and hare. Italian Greyhound can run every faster than the rabbits or the hares with a top speed of 60km/h ≅ 35 miles/hr. Now nobody use Italian Greyhounds to hunt, they have become companion dogs and are considered a toy breed.
