Golden Lab carrying a wooden stick bigger than her

This Golden Lab picked up this huge piece of wood from the beach. And she was no way she letting it go. It didn’t matter if any other dog was coming close. She was not dropping it even for sniffing another dog.

Everybody was getting out of the way for the Golden Lab.

Her owner was muttering something. I could hear her not being happy, but I was too busy taking the photo and laughing my head off.

I really don’t know why, do dogs like sticks. They must realize that it’s not a prey, but somehow, they want to keep these sticks and some dogs will even chew and eat the wood. The big problem is that black cherry, yew, and walnut wood are toxic for dogs.
