French Bulldog Swimming
Many dogs love water. From the Duck Trolling Retriever to the Labrador passing through the Newfoundlander and the all the other retrievers. These are dogs built for the water.
French Bulldogs or any other Bulldogs don’t like water, especially swimming in the water. Why? Because they sink and then drown. These dogs know. They are too heavy in the front, the chest area and they can’t paddle fast enough to keep them moving so they do not drown.
This French Bulldog? He loves the water but:
- In this case, he’s not really swimming, he’s walking in the water. It’s extremely shallow and he’s walking.
- His owner is just off the photo, to the left. I would say about 2 to 3 meters or around 7 to 10 feet away.
- I’m at the edge of the water.
As soon as he sees a what would be a big wave for him, and is slightly more than a ripple for us adults, he runs toward the beach. I don’t think that there was any swimming involved but it sounds so much better and more impressive.
