Frank the Pug
Pugs are one of the most popular purebred breed around. But this is a very recent surge in popularity that started 20 years ago, on July 2nd 1997. How precise is this? Before July 1997, very few people had Pugs, they were as rare as Italian Greyhounds.
On July 2nd, 1997, the movie “Men in Black“ came out and there was a 30 second clip of Frank the Pug at a small kiosk next to a man selling keys. With the second film: “Men in Black II“, Frank the Pug had a much “bigger“ role.
People started to want to have Pugs as household dogs. Pugs are great household dogs, small dog, small walk and intelligent dogs that adapted well to city life.
Frank’s owner is a “Men in Black“ fan so his named his Pug: “Frank“
