Duffus

Let me introduce you to Duffus. That’s his name. According to Kim, Duffus is mostly a Maltese with some Chihuahua. I don’t see the Chihuahua. But what I see is a very confident dog who own his space.

According to the Urban Dictionary, Duffus is the short for “dumbfucks” from the Pig Latin ‘dummass frickinious idiotus’, and that suits him very well.

Duffus refers to someone (or a dog) who is extraordinarily dumb, as exhibited by extraordinarily bad choices.

It’s the kind of confidence that gets him into a lot of troubles. He thinks that he understands and knows how to deal with … But he doesn’t. Being in a room is not enough for Duffus, he needs to investigate everything. In spite of being so short, he jumps on things and gets where he can open the closet doors. Then he finds himself locked in. It’s the same with drawers. He’ll manage to pull one open, climb in, then he can’t get out.

He climbs. He loves to climb. He climbs on chairs, on tables, on boxes…. But getting down? That’s not his problem. He just has to whine enough and eventually the rescue mission arrives.

He believes in his own abilities, no matter what. Failure doesn’t exist for him, he just moves onto what’s next.

I often photograph dogs in their element, capturing those little quirks and moments that you can relate to. The way they tilt their heads, the mischief in their eyes, the quiet of a nap. It’s about telling their story. And with dogs like Duffus, there’s always a story.

A print on your wall isn’t just a picture. It’s a memory, a feeling, their personality that you can hold onto for years to come. If you’d like a beautiful, timeless portrait of your beloved companion, get in touch https://www.sritch.com/contact.
