The Dog Days of Summer: Vancouver, BC

Most dogs will put up with their owners’ antics.

Henry is definitely not thrilled with being in the baby swing. He swayed there for a good 10 minutes, but he puts up with it. There’s a reason for Henry to put up with some of these eccentricities, he gets paid very well. He got to run around for over an hour before and after being in the baby swing and he also got some pieces of dried out bacon, one of his favourite treats.

BTW, the expression of the “Dog Days of Summer” comes from Canis Major (the big dog) and Canis Minor (the small dog). These are two constellations that both rise and set with the sun during the summer. One of the brightest star is Sirius which is part of Canis major. The Romans (of the ancient time) believed that it was the conjunction of the sun and Sirius that made the summers so hot.
