Carrying His Yorkie: West Vancouver, BC
Once, I was looking after a Chihuahua. She refused to walk because her owner always carried her. I refuse to carry any dog, not even a Yorkie or a Chihuahua.
I must be mean. I put the leash on her and without looking or arguing, I started walking. She tried to resist for a couple of seconds, then she went walking with me.
I’m not sure if she fell or laid on the ground or what, I wasn’t looking. But it’s not like she had the size to put up a fight. In anyway, after her temper-tantrum, she was walking with me.
Then she started sniffing around while we walked. It took us a good 10 minutes to learn how to walk with each other. Over the next few days, she became a “real dog”.
