The Iron Dogs

As a ’normal’ dog owner, me and my dog, we have our regular walks. These are the routines that my dog depends on. Every day, we do four short walks. The short walks are just around the block literally.

Each of these short walk take about 15 minutes because there’s a lot of sniffing involved. No patch of grass will go un-sniffed. Often, ‘we’ end up having to re-sniff a patch of grass just in case my dog missed a single blade. Then, there’s either the medium walk which is about half an hour long or, finally, three to four times a week we have a long walk on the Vancouver Seawall, which takes between 1½ and 2 hours.

I walk past this house at least 3 times per week during our long walks on the way to the Vancouver Seawall, and I never noticed this dog sculpture. Maybe it’s new, or maybe I’m lost on my internal dialogues…

Over the last 20 years that I’ve walked past this house, there’s never been a real dog there. But think of how great of a photo it would have been if a ‘real dog’ was lying at the feet of this metal dog sculpture. That would have been hilarious.

Imagine having you own dog, lying next to this dog metal sculpture, we could do fantastic photos and lasting pieces of art: https://www.sritch.com/contact.
