When I think agility racing, I think Border Collies and Pitbulls. They are both fast, very energetic dogs and willing/eager to work. Over 90% of the agility overall champions are either the Border Collies or the Pitbulls.
Agility racing is for all kind of dogs, including the small and the very small dogs. It’s amazing how quick these small dogs can be. The organizers of the competition lower the height of the jump, but all the other obstacles remain the same. Of course, they can’t go as fast as the medium size dogs, they don’t have the stride for it.
BTW, I’ve never seen agility competitions for very large dogs like the Great Danes, Greyhounds, or the St Bernards.
